God's Covenant

God's Covenant: In Genesis 17:9-14 the emphasis is on God's covenant or agreement with God. V. 9 "And God said to Abraham: 'As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants (all who believe) after you throughout their generations." In the verses circumcision and uncircumcision are emphasized. Romans 4:11 helps us understand, "And he received the sign of the circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had while still uncircumcised, that he might be the father of all those who believe, though they are uncircumcised..." Abraham had faith in God while he was uncircumcised. Abraham's faith in God was credited to him as righteousness.
This writer cannot mention enough how we need to read and sudy the Bible! The above passage is not easy to understand. Abraham is mentioned in the Old and New Testaments as much as anybody. Study his life with God! He is the father of all who beleive in God! Do you believe in God? You must believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior, and then you can go to God through Jesus Christ! Are you a believer??
